A pending transaction means the payment has been authorised but is still waiting for Mastercard’s confirmation. When this happens, the funds are temporarily held from your balance.
Pending transactions are usually updated within 8 days. They’ll either:
Complete, when the funds are released to the merchant, or
Reverse when the payment is cancelled or not confirmed in time, returning the amount to your YouTrip account.
Key things to note:
- For payments made in currencies outside the 10 wallet currencies (AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, NZD, SGD, CAD, HKD, CHF), the final exchange rate may change slightly once the transaction is settled.
- If a transaction is reversed, it means the payment was cancelled or denied because Mastercard did not confirm it within the timeframe. The original amount will be credited back to your YouTrip account.
- In rare cases, if Mastercard confirms the payment after a reversal, you’ll see a new transaction record with the confirmed amount, while the original pending record will remain marked as reversed.
