Here are some common reasons why your ATM withdrawal may be declined.
-
YouTrip withdrawal limit
Effective from 26 March 2026, The daily domestic ATM withdrawal limit for YouTrip in Australia is AUD 2,000.
Once this limit has been reached, any further ATM withdrawal attempts within the same 24 hour period will be declined. The limit will reset after 24 hours.
Please note that this limit cannot be increased.
-
ATM compatibility
YouTrip cards can be used at ATMs that display the Mastercard, Maestro, or Cirrus logos.
If the ATM does not support these networks, the withdrawal may be declined. We recommend using another ATM that displays any of these logos.
-
ATM operator restrictions
The ATM operator may impose their own withdrawal limits per transaction or per day.
In some cases, the ATM may only allow smaller withdrawal amounts, even if you have not reached your YouTrip limit.
-
ATM issues
The ATM may be temporarily out of service or experiencing technical issues, which may result in a failed withdrawal attempt.
If this happens, you may try again at another ATM.
-
Pending ATM withdrawals
The ATM withdrawal may appear as "Pending" in the app even though it was unsuccessful.
The transaction may take up to 8 days to be reversed
You may refer to this FAQ to learn more about Pending transactions.
If, however, the transaction is marked as "Completed", please refer to this FAQ on how to submit a chargeback dispute.
